Copy of standard menu’s available on request; these can be adjusted to suit individual needs. (i.e. vegetarians etc)

Pirate, if required will come & talk to each Group that books to give a “pre boarding” talk on safety, boat use & lock use. (depending on distance)

The boat is moored at Northolt & is the normal boarding point, unless pre arranged. (boat yard postcode - UB5 6AG)

You can book the boat for a weekend, week or longer etc & split the camp by half or thirds, this allows up to 24 to take part.

All you need to bring is a sleeping bag & clothes required for the time on the boat, everything else is supplied. (kit list on Ben Gorton information page)

The Skipper is Pirate, who has a Scout form W, a RYA Helmsman’s certificate & a Boat Master level 3 & has been running Scouts Narrowboat camps for over 25 years & has been involved with inland boating since 1965.

The boat is named Ben Gorton after “Rikki” from 1st Bordon Garrison Scout Group.

The boat is available for Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers, Leaders & Fellowship (SAS) & all Guide sections.

There are 20 + buoyancy aids & 8 life jackets on board to fit most sizes
